This article does not intend to abuse, harass, threaten or intimidate Peyton. It is a list of awful and questionable things he has done in public online. It is not obscene, pornographic, or abusive [see above]. Any mention of offensive, profane, or bigoted content is linked to things that Peyton has said, again, publicly. This wiki page does not intend to impersonate him. None of the content presented here is illegal. It is not soliciting for passwords/personal information, spamming the page with advertisements, etc. Reporting this page is false flagging and vandalism.
Note: This article will not deadname or misgender Peyton, but some of the links are old and thus, by their nature, may deadname or misgender him. Also, everything in this article is fact-checked and presented with as much accuracy as possible. Anything that did not seem like it was relevant and accurate was not included. This article also will not doxx Peyton, but will include certain things that may link to his full name as he chose to connect his wallet and fandom identities in 2018.
Beachdeath is the current username of a tumblr BNF and freelance journalist known as Peyton. In the past half-decade, he has been known alternately as scenicroutes, reyton, teenagevictorysong, bethandbee, underwooding, twinfantasys, peytonology, and lalondes. Peyton is good friends with graceebooks and has been for many years. At least eleven fandoms have been subject to Peyton's harassment, cult-like group of followers, and bizarre meta backed up by questionable queer theory.
Peyton's inner circle is renowned for being incredibly cliquey. He and his inner circle even run a blog called 'The Niche,' a circle-jerk of in-jokes between its seven contributors and some of their close friends that has attained some popularity due to both the fandom social capital of the tumblr users who run it and because of Peyton’s standing as a moderately successful freelance journalist. Their clique also runs a bizarre blog called OneTrueDynamic in which they attempt to match various pairings to strict archetypes based on Sherlock Holmes. Choice tidbits of this have been immortalized by onetruedynamic nonny here, here, and here. Further reading about this can be found on its own fanlore page.
One of Peyton's most defining fandom activities is dragging queer politics and queer theory into everything. By his own description, his blog is "lgbt and feminist politics with a healthy dose of obscure personal interests and socializing." From his perspective, he is never in the wrong. He also extensively use social justice terminology to win arguments in fandom - in particular, he is notable for exploding Les Miserables fandom by claiming Enjolras/Eponine was "queer erasure" and harassing every shipper in sight. Like many social justice wankers in fandom, he is not as progressive as he thinks he is and mostly uses social justice language when it's convenient to gain social capital. Notably, he once unfavorably compared historical fiction about AIDS to the AIDS-exploitative South Park fic "The Rectum is a Tomb." He also has a habit of hyperfocusing on top/bottom dynamics even once using a seminal essay about gay life under the spectre of AIDS to argue why Dennis from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia would be a bottom. Despite being Such A Progressive Person, Peyton regularly speaks over women of color, deceptively cropping their posts and even once referring to people calling out racism as “ghouls.” Peyton will excuse any past homophobic actions away as 'not knowing any better' while still perpetrating harmful ideas about gay men, and disrespecting the legacy of their art.
A bizarre facet of Peyton’s social justice-centered popularity is his tendency towards conspiracy theories and outright denial of the truth. Peyton started and then backpedaled on a very popular conspiracy regarding Andrew being fired from Spider-Man because of LGBT-friendly comments. He also insisted over and over that there were no reputable reports of Chechen concentration camps for gay men, only "tabloid" reports. When digoxin-purpurea smacked Peyton down, Peyton’s response was a shitshow of hair-splitting, of bragging about their academic credentials and unearthing dioxin-purpurea's locked political RPF and using it to discredit her. And when thepopculturejunky gave Peyton the benefit of the doubt that they weren’t a bully, Peyton whined about how d-p attacked him “out of nowhere” and therefore he had a right to wax anti about their fanfic. [Note: More about that whole thing here. Also note that Peyton did post something about the Chechnya persecutions on May 31, but does not appear to have ever walked back what he had said that April.]
Beachdeath also has a nasty habit of getting involved in affirming or denying sexual assault accusations when he should really just be quiet about them. He blatantly denied that a musician he liked, 4lung, was a child predator and encouraged other people to not believe the accusations. Peyton only apologized for this months later when a 17 page callout was released and this was the only thing he could reasonably respond to. Though, of course, he still made sure to paint himself as the victim in his weak apology by comparing his callout to systemic violence against poor transfeminine artists. He also decided that it was his business to get involved in arbitrating the (false) sexual assault accusations against Mitski despite it very much not being his business at all. Butting into these serious issues is seen as perfectly okay to him, even though he is obviously unqualified to handle them sensitively, or even to maintain credibility by being consistently right about who is and is not guilty.
Peyton is also notable for his succession of harassment campaigns and for getting away with this behavior in fandom after fandom. As stated before, Peyton was heavily involved in turning Les Miz fandom into a very toxic environment. Much like Gracee, he has a lot of social capital and often attacks others using an expectation that his anons will do the dirty work for him. After a disagreement over trans issues in the Dangan Ropa fandom, anonymous fans of Peyton harassed the people who disagreed with him using death and rape threats. When the Star Wars EU was erased, they took the side of anti-Mara Jade individuals and mocked fans who wished she wasn't erased. After entering It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia fandom, he harassed one person out of the small fandom for criticizing fandom trends and another person out of the fandom for accusations of writing incest - even though they weren't. Peyton scolded teenagers in South Park fandom for shipping Kyman on the grounds that they were romanticizing abuse. There is vague record of bad behavior taking place in Glee, Homestuck, and Book of Mormon fandoms. However, the final three all occurred five or more years ago. Difficulty in finding old primary sources, uncertainty about the reliability of gossip discussed years after the fact, and ethics surrounding Peyton's age at the time are prohibitive of deeper discussions about his actions in these fandoms.
As a notable harasser, Peyton loves to make it known that he sanctions the harassment of other people whenever possible. Peyton sanctioned the actions at 221b con saying that doxxing of the panel was justified. In November 2019 alone, Peyton weighed in on two harassment campaigns in YA. The backlash against, Tamsyn Muir, a published YA author who got “cancelled” on twitter for writing Homestuck fic on a kink meme a decade ago, was framed as “understandabl[e] upset” about indefensible “fiction that is purely written for sexual gratification.” On November 15, 2019, Peyton also stated on his twitter about the Sarah Dessen YA scandal (in which a random girl who criticized Sarah Dessen’s books two years earlier was chased offline) that the person who was harassed was a misogynist because [saying] "‘this book is only good for teenage girls, not for more serious readers’ is an unacceptably misogynistic statement regardless of context.”
His harassment has not just been limited to en masse gang-ups; it also has been interpersonal. In 2013, Peyton broke up with his girlfriend, yosb. Post breakup, yosb was subjected to terrible harassment at the hands of Peyton, Graceebooks, and their friends. Par for the course, Graceebooks even implied that things would get bad for yosb legally if they did not take certain posts down from their personal blog. Graceebooks was commonly Peyton's attack dog in the past. When underage tumblr user 1892 made a callout post of beachdeath in 2019, Peyton requested via another underage friend that 1892 remove the post and apologize. There is a vast whisper network about Peyton of people who are too afraid to come out about his harassment.
Like many wankers, Peyton is a total hypocrite. He scolds others for romanticizing abuse and unhealthy relationships where characters rape each other, and then romanticizes an abusive, unhealthy relationship where one of the characters (Dennis) has sexually assaulted the other (Mac) and is a serial rapist. Despite all evidence to the contrary, he claims that Dennis is not a rapist at all. He also rationalizes his rapist behavior in fanfiction. [Note: in November 2018, Peyton removed all of his terrible fanfiction from the internet, because he did not want MacDennis fanfiction attached to his wallet name.]When someone confronted them about this on tumblr, he accused the person of baseless accusations and harassing a survivor. As he was openly supportive of the doxxing of a CSA survivor at 221B con, it seems like the only survivors Peyton really cares about are rapey fictional characters and himself.
Peyton continues to hang out with people who ship incest all the while chasing random incest shippers out of fandoms when it suits him. He is also well-known for hating RPF and yet is so obsessed with certain celebrities that he will commission art where Bill Hader kisses him and even post about Bill Hader eating his pussy for months on end. Even weirder, Peyton has been obsessed with teenage actor Finn Wolfhard since Finn was fourteen years old and Peyton was 23. Peyton has made multiple sexual jokes and comments about this underage actor on multiple platforms over the past two years – something that is apparently fine as long as he does it.
Presumably because he wished to tie his wallet and fandom identities, Peyton was a serial deleter of this wiki page. He deleted it twice on 7/15/17, and it was reported it for violation of terms of service on 8/4/17. Beachdeath's page was removed and exchanged with a page called "Fandom Personalities" that linked to five other prominent fandom users as well as them. His specific entry was flagged and removed on 9/1/2017. The page was reported again on 9/12/17 and beachdeath's links were removed. Because of wikia’s moderators specifically looking for beachdeath-related content, the only place this wiki can live permanently is on the dreamwidth backup wiki.
